From Banksy to Brick Lane: Year 6 Explore London’s Street Art

Year 6 recently enjoyed an exciting and inspiring trip to Brick Lane and Shoreditch, where they explored the vibrant world of street art as part of their learning about Banksy and famous urban artists. Walking through the colourful streets of London, the children were amazed by the huge murals, creative graffiti and powerful artwork displayed around every corner. They learnt how artists use public spaces to share messages, culture and emotions, bringing their classroom learning to life in a memorable way.

The children were fascinated by the stories behind the artwork. Alongside exploring the art, pupils also carried out Geography fieldwork to support their learning back at school. Afeefah said, “It was amazing to see so many different styles of art in real life, every corner had something exciting to discover!” Ziann added, “The trip was awesome because we learnt the stories behind the artwork and got to explore such a cool part of London.”
