Torches, Magnets and Big Questions: What a Science Morning!

What a brilliant morning we had at our recent Science Morning! It wasn’t just our children acting like real-world scientists, the parents did some serious investigation too! It was great to watch the tables turn, with the children becoming the teachers and proudly sharing everything they’ve learnt in science this year. Equipped with torches, Year 6 and their parents were busy exploring light and shadows.
Down in Key Stage 1, things got beautifully messy as KS1 and their grown-ups tested what floats, what sinks, and what sticks to magnets. The children also showed off their animal classification skills, sorting creatures into their correct scientific groups like scientists in the making. Year 5 led some fantastic investigations into the invisible world of forces, testing out pulls, pushes, and gravity.
Watching the kids lead the way, seeing them explain tricky concepts to their parents with so much confidence and a massive smile on their faces was just wonderful. A huge thank you to all the parents who came along, got stuck in, and weren’t afraid to ask those big "why" questions. You have some seriously talented little scientists on your hands!
