The children in Year 5 have been learning about natural disasters in their topic on Mountains, Volcanoes and Earthquakes. This week they were lucky enough to have a school parent, Bishnu Pun, visit them to talk about her experience in the huge earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2025. With her extensive knowledge of Nepal’s history and culture, the children were able to get answers to their questions and hear first hand experience of living through an earthquake and its aftershock. They also learnt how children in Nepalese schools prepare for earthquakes and mitigate any foreseeable dangers.
