Ranelagh is a Forest School
The Teaching Assistants and Teachers are absolutely overjoyed that Ranelagh is a Forest School. In June and July, the teachers learned how to bring the curriculum alive with outdoor learning and at the beginning of September every adult hiked over to West Ham Park for training delivered by Miss Begum in how to use the part of the park given over to Ranelagh. Our Science Lead ,Miss Begum, has been trained to lead the Forest School at Ranelagh.

Our vision is that “learning is rich in meaningful and memorable experiences”. Come rain or shine, the children will be learning in outdoor spaces as the Forest School will run through the whole curriculum - from DT and Maths to Music and English. All of this will be underpinned with the Forest School ethos of collaboration and learning in a natural environment.

Every Friday, children will venture to West Ham Park, there, they will saw wood to build shelters, pond-dip and eventually learn to make campfires. Year 1 has already begun. The school is extremely excited about this and there will be,we're sure, updates about these memorable experiences throughout the year
