A Comedy of Errors
Ranelagh takes part in Shakespeare Schools Festival
For the last four years, Ranelagh have been part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival performing at Stratford Circus and the Kenneth More Theatre. On Tuesday, after months of preparation, children from our very own Shakespeare Club tread the boards in the Comedy Of Errors. It was an exhilarating and hilarious performance.
The children loved the story and the ridiculous puns and confusion they had to act out. There is no subtlety in this story; the children have enjoyed learning how to fight each other without hurting one another and using huge gestures to convey different meanings within the play.
All of the children were commended for their amazing enunciation of the sometimes complicated text of Shakespeare. The Festival organiser said, “It was the best he had heard all year!” Miss Scott and Miss Selsby have worked tirelessly as directors and were tremendously proud of all the children. A huge congratulations to all involved.
