On 1^st December 2016, Ranelagh was honoured to accept an award for outstanding service to its local community. The awards, which are in their second year, celebrate individuals and groups in the communities served by London's Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

Having been part and winners of the Community Championship awards for a number of years, the prestigious Community Champions panel wanted to honour the contribution which was made by Ranelagh Primary School and the late Angela Tapscott.

Angela Tapscott received the lifetime Achievement award, for individual achievements that have been “far-reaching and sustained over a number of years.” Not only was she honoured with this amazing award, but the award for Teacher of the Year is now named after our beloved Angela Tapscott.
